Case Studies

While serving as Communications Specialist for Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake, I developed systems to strengthen cross-department collaboration and reduce long-standing communication silos. This included creating a streamlined digital intake process that allowed departments to coordinate more directly with communications, as well as implementing regular planning and reporting sessions. These improvements increased transparency, improved response time and supported more efficient internal workflows.

For a historical preservation nonprofit client, I developed a comprehensive, mission-driven communications plan aligned with the organization’s fundraising and growth goals. Designed with organizational capacity in mind, the plan included audience and competitive analysis, messaging and positioning guidance, and paid and organic platform-specific communications strategies.

At Habitat Chesapeake I secured earned media placements in leading Baltimore outlets including WJZ and WBAL, while significantly increasing digital performance metrics including 90 percent growth in Facebook followers, 60 percent increase in interactions, 325 percent increase in click-throughs, 342 percent growth in Instagram reach and 246 percent increase in click-throughs. I also led communications for a high-profile event attended by Governor Wes Moore and other local dignitaries, managing fast-changing logistics and stakeholder engagement to strengthen public visibility.

Media Relations & Audience Growth

For an environmental conservation nonprofit client I led a comprehensive website audit in support of a relaunch, evaluating content structure, messaging clarity and user pathways to improve accessibility and impact.
